Curiosity got me an encounter with Thekla.

Beautiful.

Since ‘Thekla‘ was a spider’s name in a kid’s story from my childhood, all spiders have this name for me…. I guess this one is of the species Amaurobius ferox, but I’d love you to correct me if I’m wrong..

I apologise for disturbing her, then turned over some dead wood to look for beetles and found Thekla instead.

I’ve put back her shelter and hope it makes for a good home again.
