Keble Martin’s Concise British Flora in Colour (1971) specifies the flowering period of Cross-leaved Heath (Erica tetralix) as July to August.

It’s early, officially.

I kind of knew that, especially because I also spotted other heathers on Kit Hill. All very early.

Pretty nonetheless!
