This pretty, tiny flowers belongs to Germander Speedwell, Veronica chamaedrys.

In Bavaria, we also call it ‘Gewitterblumchen’, which means ‘little thunder blossom’.

This odd name originates from the perception that this Veronica flowers specifically when there is thunder in the air, which most of the summer in Bavaria.

… which makes the name a pretty safe bet!
