Nature is full of beauty and wonder, and autumn is change – dormancy as well as emerging signs of life beneath the surface.
The fungus on the picture is amethyst deceiver, edible, but known for taking up arsenic from the soil…and as I’ve spotted this on the Devon Great Consols mining site, a former copper and arsenic mine, I left the fungi to the slugs…and wondered whether they turn purple after munching on it.
